How to Build the Content Engine for Your SaaS Startup on Webflow

We’ve all heard that for any software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup, content is key to success. But Why?

Because in order for your target customers to find you and eventually convert, they need to be able to discover your content when they're searching for answers online. That's where SEO kicks in. And in order for your SEO efforts to be successful, you need to have a content engine that can pump out high-quality, keyword-optimized content on a regular basis.

Enter Webflow. Webflow is a powerful no-code platform that enables you to design and build beautiful websites without having to write a single line of code. And best of all, it's incredibly simple to use. In this post, we'll show you how to use Webflow to build the content engine for your SaaS startup so that you can start generating the quality content needed to attract and convert your target customers.

But before we get sold on Webflow, let’s try to understand why is it the best tool for creating a content marketing website on the internet?

First and foremost, it's important to note that with Webflow, there is no need for you to hire a web developer or designer. You can create and design your website yourself, which will save you time and money in the long run.

Another key benefit of using Webflow for your content marketing website is that it's extremely SEO-friendly. It has all the tools to take care of on-page SEO, and that too without having any technical knowledge. It is as easy as filling data in a form.

Lastly, Webflow gives you complete control over your website's design. With other website builders, you're often limited in terms of what you can do with your site's design. But with Webflow, the sky's the limit—you can really let your creativity shine through.

Let’s see how to build a content repository on Webflow:

1) Sign up for an account on Webflow.com

The first thing you'll need to do is sign up for an account on Webflow.com. You do not need to pay anything to get started on Webflow.

2) Pick a Template or Start from Scratch

Next, it’s time to pick a template for your website or start from scratch.

If you’re starting from scratch, you’ll need to add pages, sections, and content blocks to your site. But don’t worry – Webflow makes it easy to drag and drop elements into place.

If you decide to use a template, Webflow has plenty of options to choose from. You can browse through the templates by category or use the search bar to find something specific. Once you’ve found a template you like, click “use this template” and it will be added to your dashboard. Make sure you choose a template that has ‘Blog’ pages included.

3) Customize your site

Now it’s time to start customizing your site! This is where you’ll add your own text, images, and videos to make your website unique. If you used a template, some of this may already be done for you. But if you started from scratch, you’ll need to add all of your own content.

When adding text, be sure to use headlines and subheadlines so that people can easily scan your content. Adding images can help break up big blocks of text and make your site more visually appealing. And if you have any videos related to your business or industry, you can even embed them on your site for people to watch.

You will also need to add blogposts in the CMS collections. It is pretty simple to do in the CMS tab.

4) Publish your site

Once you're happy with how your site looks, it's time to hit the publish button and make your site live! With Webflow, publishing is super easy.

Simply choose one of their paid plans after creating the project (we recommend their $29/month CMS site plan). Once the plan is bought, you can easily connect your domain with Webflow hosting, and Voila! You’re ready to hit publish. Your site is now live and ready for visitors.

5) Start creating content over time!

Now that your site is live, it's time to start writing some blogs! You can add your marketing team and content writers to the Webflow Editor as collaborators. They’ll be able to access a trimmed down version of Webflow where they can make changes to the content of your site, and add dynamic content like blogposts.

To add a new blog post, simply go to ‘Collections’ tab in the Webflow editor, and then the ‘Blogs’ collection, and click on "Add Blog Post" button in the top right corner and start writing away. Once you're finished writing your post, hit the "Publish" button and it will automatically be added to your site. That's all there is to it!

In conclusion, if you're looking for an easy way to create high-quality content that will help attract and convert your target customers, look no further than Webflow. With its user-friendly interface and vast array of features, building a content engine on Webflow is an excellent choice for any SaaS startup founder or CMO.
